Ooredoo has signed a landmark agreement that will see the company deliver end-to-end managed ICT services to Doha Bank.
The agreement was signed by Ahmad Ali al-Hanzab, head of Administration & Property Department at Doha Bank, and Yousuf Abdulla al-Kubaisi, Ooredoo chief operating officer, in a ceremony held at the Doha Bank tower. The event was also attended by Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani, chief executive officer of Ooredoo Group; Waleed al-Sayed, deputy CEO of Ooredoo Group and CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, and Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohamed bin Jabor al-Thani, managing director of Doha Bank.
As part of the five-year contract, Ooredoo will guarantee Doha Bank a seamless managed ICT service, encompassing telecommunications, IT networks, cybersecurity, and data centre solutions. To ensure Doha Bank’s information is secure, the bank will now move both their main and back-up data centre to Ooredoo’s world-class Qatar Data Centre. Ooredoo will also refresh Doha Bank’s network infrastructure to support the organisation’s mission critical operations.
Al-Kubaisi said, “The move to our world-class data centre will enable Doha Bank to have complete control over their services and a host of ICT solutions, all based within the state of Qatar. Thanks to this new agreement, Doha Bank and their customers will have peace of mind, knowing that their systems are being monitored by experts in Qatar, round the clock.
“Only Ooredoo offers the most comprehensive suite of managed business services available in the country, supported by world-class global partners. This is why we are the partner of choice for Qatar’s organisations.”
Al-Hanzab added: “We are proud to have Ooredoo as partner to support Doha Bank’s information and communications technology. This agreement is a culmination of several agreements over the past years and will offer us the opportunity to explore a wide range of technologies and ensure the security and privacy of all ICT services comprising telecommunications, IT networks, and data. We are proud to invest in new technologies and we are willing to change with the dynamics of technology, using a world-class partner.”
